]]>This is the biggest trade deal the UK has made since Brexit, and it’s expected to bring in £25.5 billion in new trade and give the UK economy a £4.8 billion boost. It’s a real game-changer, especially if you’re trading internationally, sourcing from India, or looking to expand overseas.
The agreement cuts taxes (tariffs) on lots of products that move between the UK and India. That means goods can be traded more easily, quickly, and affordably.
Here’s a quick look at what’s changing:
The UK will lower tariffs on Indian goods like:
India will cut tariffs on UK goods such as:
And there’s more…
“DKT are synonymous with the India<>UK<>India trade having been agents for SCI in The UK for well over a decade. We are successfully servicing both import & export customers, some trading in the products benefiting from the exciting, recently announced FTA. We see this as having huge potential for growth within this already mature, established trade lane. If there was ever a time to explore diversifying into a new market, I would say it is probably now”
Paul Reeves,
Managing Director, DKT Allseas.

]]>Oliver has seamlessly integrated into the team and is helping with all our services, fast becoming an integral member of the company.
When did you begin working in the industry?
I began my career 18 years ago as an office junior and gradually transitioned into import operations, specialising in less-than-container load (LCL) services for China. I also spent two years in Hong Kong, gaining invaluable international experience. This part of my career shaped my people skills and instilled in me a strong commitment to customer service.
What do you enjoy most about working in the industry?
I love the daily variation in the industry. In sales, no two days are the same – whether I’m providing good customer service or liaising with the ops team. This dynamic environment keeps me engaged and constantly learning, making each day an exciting challenge. I also love working with people, meeting new people, and making professional connections.
What would you say your area of expertise is?
I have a strong background in international logistics, gaining hands-on experience in Honk Kong. During this time, I gained insights into global trade and different ways of working. Additionally, I excel at navigating complex supply chain processes, coordinating shipments, and ensuring smooth communication between all involved parties, regardless of time zones. My ability to adapt to the fast-paced, ever-changing nature of the industry is also one of my key strengths.
How do you spend your time out of the office?
Outside of the office, I enjoy watching and playing football and rugby, particularly rugby union, though it hasn’t been as fun lately. Growing up, I was a supporter of the Saracens. I am also an Arsenal supporter and love watching from a kid. I’m a family man too and spending quality time with my partner Beth and our two-year-old daughter, Freya. Balancing work and family life is important to me and I cherish the moments we share.

]]>There have already been reports of significant damage to the track, however, a full assessment and timeline has not been issued as the recovery of all wagons and containers continues.
Operations on the South Rail Terminal (SRT) continue as planned, and alternative access to the Central Rail Terminal (CRT) is being assessed.
Access to all other areas of the container terminal remains unaffected, with shipping and haulage operations continuing as normal.
It is unlikely that any rail operations can take place on the North Rail Terminal (NRT) for the remainder of this week. We are anticipating delays to both import and export customers.
We apologise for the disruption to your planned rail movements. Further updates will be provided as soon as possible.
We encourage our customers to reach out to us directly should they have any concerns.
Many thanks,
